Well, my sisters were in town for seven days. Funny how when you are working, and the kids are in school, five days seem like an eternity. But yet, when you have seven days vacation, it just flies by!!! My sisters came to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and it was fabulous! They flew out today and I already miss them like crazy!!! We are so close and it is so hard to be so far away.
Rushing to blog, so I will post more later. . .

Oh The Joys of Being Parents! :)
So, yesterday was a hectic day. It was not a bad day, just a hectic day.
Close your eyes for a minute and think back to a time when you were dating your spouse. Remember when all your time was spent on you? Women, we got to shave our legs every day in the shower, wash our hair every day, blow dry it, put on make up, flat iron our hair, change clothes about 4 or 5 times when we were getting ready just because we wanted to look just a tad bit cuter, and be able to spend an hour or two solely on getting ourselves "ready"? I have to say, 9 years and 3 kids later, where has that time gone? Now it is more like shaving once a week, in a 5 minute shower and letting your hair towel dry as someone is screaming and pounding on the door. Or in my case you are in the shower and your toddler keeps pulling the curtain out of the shower soaking the floor and knocking my shampoo and condiitioner bottles in the tub! Then you get out to half way dry, throw on some granny panties and yoga pants because you just dont have time to iron your cute pants and slap some make up on to cover the lack of sleep the night before and throw that hair in a clip and hope it looks decent!!!
Well, we (my husband and I) had plans to go to lunch yesterday. He wanted to take me out as a repayment for me doing some paperwork for him! :) Hard work pays off! Anyhow, we were going to go to Texas Roadhouse for lunch because as all parents know, if you wait to go til supper then you have 5 people instead of the two of you. So, first my lunch got post poned to 1:30. Then I looked online and on Wednesdays the restaurant doesnt open until 4. So that was out. Then we decided IHOP. Then he calls me and says he is waiting at chili's. This is at 1:55. Then my lunch got pushed to 2:15 because of work. So here I am starving at work with my husband impatiently waiting at Chili's and I just can't wait to get there and relax for an hour away from work with my husband. An hour with no interruptions. So at 2:10, 5 minutes before the long awaited hour, I get a call from the daycare. "Um, Mrs. Jamison?" "Yes." "Hi, we are calling because Brycen has major diahrea. He has had it three times and it is coming out of the diaper. If it is coming out of the diaper we cannot keep him at daycare. We need someone to come pick him up." "Ok, we will be right there." So there you have it. The hour that kept me going all day, that I was so close to getting and BAM, cancelled. So my husband leaves Chili's and goes to get the baby. Then I get a call at 4, after Adrian gets home, and she is crying hysterically on the phone with a headache. I mean!!! So instead of a great lunch at chilis with an hour of uninterrupted time with the hubby, I got taco bell and he had burger king drive thru. LOL.
Well, such is the life of parents!!!
Until my next post, try to focus on yourself today. Don't be selfish, but just find a way to do something for you!

16 MONTHS!!! What a Big Boy!!!

I just can't believe my baby boy is 16 months today. The time is flying by so fast. I am loving every minute of it. I am already dreading him growing up even though I love to experience the new stages he goes through. He has learned right now how to throw tantrums. That is a fun one. He gets frustrated very easily when we don't understand what he wants or needs or we don't get what he is trying to communicate to us. We went to the park yesterday and he had a blast. He was climbing on the slides and playing ball. He was loving the interaction with all the kids there. It is so bittersweet when they grow up and become more independent. I love my baby boy and we are truly blessed!!!

A Day Off!
Well, after a very stressful week, I decided to take it easy this weekend. I cancelled my Saturday activities. I spent time just hanging out Friday. I took Brycen to McDonald's for a happy meal and some fun time in the play place. Then we walked around KMart and played with all the toys in the store that make noise. (Cheap fun for a one year old...lol). After that, we came home, Brycen spent time with Daddy and Mommy got to relax. I slept in a bit on Saturday morning and Daddy made breakfast. I did a little laundry and that was it. I even walked to the park and did my new walk/run exercises. I started this last Thursday. I can't ever seem to find time by myself to work out. So a friend of mine that lives down the street is in the same boat and has two young kids, so we have decided that the best time for us to work out is 5:30 in the morning!!! I thought I would be miserable, but after I drag myself out of bed it really isnt that bad. In fact it gives me a lot of energy in the morning and I am finding that I leave on time for work... :) So, Saturday I went during the day by myself to go do the routine. I was quite pleased when I saw I lost another 3 lbs last week!!! I need 7 more pounds to be at my first goal weight!!! YAY!!
So then Saturday night I just kinda relaxed and spent time with the baby. The bigger kids played outside, had company and spent some time with Dad and even went to grandpas.
And then Saturday night, my husband's cousin invited us to go out!! We haven't been out in ages. We never seem to have a babysitter or the money. But oh man, it was much needed. We never seem to get a break from the kids and have time together. So we stayed out really late Saturday night. And then when we finally came home we spent even more time together just talking/bonding. It was so nice. But needless to say, since we were out and up all night,we didnt get up for church in the morning. :( But, I guess we just needed a weekend off, me especially. So yesterday we lounged around most of the day. Then I did do the cleaning and laundry. And then today, a paid day off. Those are the best. Thank goodness for President's Day. So on the agenda today, AJ has a dental appointment and I have some more cleaning to do and I need to get everyone's clothes ready for the week. Sounds like a blast I know, but I am really glad to have the day off!!!
Well, even though last week was disastrous, it is a new week and after my free weekend, I feel rejuvenated and ready to face whatever the world presents this week. (Hopefully it is a good one.)
Until my next post.....

This Day Stinks!!!
I must say, this has been a terrible day. I am usually the one trying to cheer up other people when their day isn't going so well, but today it is me. I had a "tiff" with the hubby last night. I didn't sleep well. I was rushing this morning. I was running about 4 or 5 minutes late to work. Of course, then with my luck today my boss was at the door. He informed me that I had to go straight up to fill in for someone upstairs. So I rush up there. I work up til lunch and I'm still not finished but I have to be relieved by someone else so that I can rush down, eat my lunch and then rush into traffic court. Which I have never done on my own. It has just been a very frustrating stressful day. One of those days where you just want to run and hide and be left alone. I am really hoping tomorrow is a better day.
I am going to leave work and go get the baby from daycare. Then I am off to hopefully take Adrian to a trial gymnastics class. The thing with that is that it is kind of expensive and I'm not really sure we can foot the bill, but I had a great desire to do gymnastics and I was always told growing up that we didnt have the money. So I didnt get to do it. Then I wanted to learn the violin and I was also told we didnt have the money. I always promised that my kids wouldnt go through that. But here we are. She has been wanting to do gymnastics forever and I have said, we have to wait, "I dont have the money". So I am hoping to squeeze the budget a little harder and make it happen. If we like the gym of course.
Or who knows, maybe I will just grow a money tree in the back yard.
Or....there is always the option that Adrian, my seven year old came up with... and I quote.. . "Mom, when I grow up, I am going to be a government so I can print all the money I want." Aahhhh, out of the mouth of babes...LOL!!!
On that note, I'm gone to face the rest of this terrible, horrible, no good, very rotten day...

Back At It!!!
Wow. It has been a really long time since I posted anything. :)
I guess we should start with an update. I saw that the last time I posted I was pregnant. Well that little man is now 15 months old. My kids are getting so big and I feel really blessed to be their mother. So for an update on the kids:
AJ is 13 now!!! He will be 14 in May and I have to say, teenage years are as hard as people said they would be. This is a time where they have to discover themselves, but as a mother, it is hard to know when to let go and to "choose your battles". I would have to say that as much as I hate to admit it, I am a controlling person. And it is so hard to let loose and let him make his own decisions, especially when you think they are making the wrong ones. I have to say though, he is a great kid. I work in the juvenile court system and I see so many kids even younger than him that are into things and troubles that even adults have no business in. So, is he obsessed with video games, yes...lol. But at least he is in the house and not out in the streets leaving us to wonder what he is up to. Does he hate homework and fuss every day when I make him study? Yes..., but at least he is still in school and doing well. Do we have to put him in check sometimes with his attitude, yes, but he is a very respectful kid who loves his family. I love him so much and couldn't imagine our family without him. I know he is growing up to be a great Man of God and I just pray that God will lead him in every area of his life.
Adrian is 7! I can't believe my little baby girl is growing up so fast! When they are little, you can't wait for them to start growing up and doing new things, but then its like all of the sudden, you realize that they aren't babies anymore. :( So bittersweet. I feel like lately I have let life get in the way. I do feel like I have let her get "middle child syndrome". Maybe not in her eyes, but in mine. I often feel guilty that with being a working mother, having 3 kids that are all in needy stages, and especially having a toddler, I find myself saying "Wait Adrian" or "Hold on, Adrian", "In a minute", "Not today, I just don't have time". So I am now making it a new goal to spend more mother daughter time with her. I think its important and I dont want to lose that bond with her. She is a great girl. She is very responsible for her age and she has been on the honor roll all year long!! What a princess.
Brycen is 15 months now!!! What a big boy! He is growing so fast! With thinking he will be the last baby, I am heartbroken with each new step. I love that he is already learning so much and growing into a strong healthy toddler, but it breaks my heart that my baby is already leaving the baby stage!! It just doesnt seem fair. He is starting to say his A,B,C's and I definitely think he is blessed musically. He loves to dance, sing (or try to) and play on the drums. I think he will have a great musical talent. He loves to praise God in church. Praise and worship seems to be his favorite part of the service.
Now to my husband, the love of my life. It has been a long journey for us. We have been together for going on 9 years. Married for going on 3! I love him so much. I thank God everyday for getting us through the tough times when satan told us we would never make it. I am very pleased to say that with the help of God, our Heavenly Father, we have pushed through those tough times and our marriage is stronger now than it ever has been. I pray for him everyday and I find a yearning in my heart to be the best wife I can be to him. It is something I pray for everyday. I want to be the woman of his dreams. I am far from perfect, but with God's help, and the help and support of my husband, I know we will have a long prosperous life together.
That is me. That is now.
Until the next post, be blessed!
